About us

The company "Diller Schneeballenträume" specialises in the production and sale of Schneeballen - a Franconian, Hohenlohe wedding pastry that has become famous worldwide thanks to Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Master confectioner Peter Diller covered the original balls, which are dusted with icing sugar, with various coatings and added delicious fillings. Since then, they have been available in over 20 different flavours. They keep for around eight weeks and are suitable for immediate consumption or as a gift. Schneeballen are a year-round pastry that is probably quite unique.


  • Manuela and master confectioner Peter Diller set up their own café/Schneeballen shop in Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1984.
  • In November 1988, they opened the first pure Schneeballen shop in Rothenburg.
  • A second followed in 1990 and others in 1991 and 1993. Since 1997, the original "Diller Schneeballenträume" have also been available in Füssen in the Allgäu region.
  • Since 1990, the "Diller Schneeballenträume" have been sold beyond Rothenburg in many German trade fair towns and in other German-speaking countries.
  • We have been visiting many Christmas markets throughout Germany since 1998. These events have also made the "Diller Schneeballen" famous in the press, on the radio and on television.
  • In 2004, we opened the world's only Schneeballen Café in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
